A person is said to be having a "Manglik Dosha", if the mangal(mars) is located in that person's horoscope in first, fourth, seventh, eighth or twelfth house. The people who have Manglik Dosha are called Manglik. The mars is considered inauspicious and it can have negative effects on marriage and life. According to its placement, mars become more malefic when it is placed in the above mentioned five houses.

1) 1st House - When Mangal(mars) is placed on this house, it affects other houses like 4th, 7th and 8th house along with the 1st house. This house represents a person's personality which indicates that the person may be very short tempered. The 4th house represents the material wealth of a person like his land, property or vehicle. Hence, he might face problems associated with vehicle and house in the form of accident, loss of property, etc. The 7th house represents several partnerships in life like marriage or business partnership. It represents your spouse or your business partners. If the mars is placed on the 1st house then you can face turbulent in marital life, fights between partners, loss of friendships, hot tempered spouse, etc. The 8th house represents sudden monetary gains, death, etc which might lead to fatal accident of the person or sudden monetary gains.
